The Real Story Behind InHER EMPIRE: Why I Started the Podcast (And What God Revealed)

I didn’t set out to become a podcaster.

In fact, when I first launched ZYMRA—my eyewear and lash brand—I was focused on building something beautiful. I wanted to help women feel bold, confident, and seen. But as I started serving women through beauty, something deeper started stirring inside me. A question that wouldn’t leave me alone:

“Why do you want to empower women?”

At first, I thought it was just business strategy. But no—it was God calling me into purpose. Having me dig deep in enough to spark innovation. I started thinking about why women? What did WE need in specific? Why do we need help to walking in confidence? How can we help each other?

My Zymra brand made me brainstorm unleashing my creative spiritual expression. Even while creating the logo, it was whispering inHER EMPIRE to my spirit without me knowing it. As I started thinking about empowerment and walking in confidence with God. I started to study bible topics. The word transformation kept popping out at me. As I began to focus on God's love letter to ME. I started to meditate on how God has worked in my life and what he has done and honestly even the situation I was currently in... I had just started a job in outside sales, because I was laid off my inside sales job. That outside sales job really pushed me out my comfort zone. Doing things I never thought I would do, but I pushed through believing and waiting on God. I would laugh with God daily whenever I was pushed to do something new, but always having faith that he knew what was best, so that drew me closer to God to talk to him everyday and pray more often. So all that made me connect with God on a deeper level causing me to look back at how God has never failed me. As I was going through God's timeline of my life I was realizing my refinement more and more.

At the same time, I was still focusing on building my brand. Which led me to think of think what else could I sell or do that empowered women besides eyewear and lashes? That's how I got the idea for a women's empowerment lifestyle brand... and that's how inHER EMPIRE was born, because I wanted to find more ways to help women step into their power. I started thinking of all the different ways and took a leap of faith and created my website and started working on my launch. I must have made more than 100 changes to my website because I wanted it to be perfect. I think I spent over a month changing it. I started to get overwhelmed with all the different things I needed to do for the brand. That's how I stumbled on the idea of a podcast as a way to advertise my business services and the woman of the month contest, but I started to burn out and started to say to God "Is this really what you want me to do?"

I decided to take a step back and re-evaluate the brand. It currently seemed all over the place. The business services alone was a beast all on its own. I started to think about the true meaning behind the brand. that's when God's timeline of what he had done in my life started to reveal itself to me. I started to see how God had been refining me in the fire, but didn't let me get engulfed. I started to see that he had been preparing me for something, but for what? I couldn't stop thinking about that or the brand itself.

Then I started to feel God telling me:

You are not building your brand—you’re building up My daughters.

You’re not chasing platforms—you’re chasing their healing.

You’re not speaking to sell merchandise—you’re speaking to break chains!

That's when I realized that the two went hand and hand, along with the website, and the podcast. I realized that I could use the podcast as a platform to empower women in their walk with God. All those battles I went through were the things that empowered me in my walk with God. Everything changed in that instant. I finally had my answer to "What's my purpose in life?" I have been asking myself this since my 20's mind you... I finally saw my divine assignment. I removed all the things that could distract me from the podcast.

ZYMRA sparked the idea, but it was the Holy Spirit who birthed inHER EMPIRE. showing me that the real work He was doing through me wasn’t just about outward transformation—it was about healing the inside, one woman at a time, and myself in the process, since I'm still a work in process I am eager to see what God does in 5 years from now in Jesus name!

Every time you press play, I want you to feel like God is sitting right beside you—pulling you out of fear, pouring into your heart, and reminding you:

You are chosen. You are whole. You are becoming. You are loved! I want God to use it as a tool to confirm you are on the right path. To give you the strength and courage to not give up. To teach you how to be a warrior in Christ by using his word to break strongholds and generational curses and leave a legacy of God behind for your bloodline.

This podcast is not about being perfect, polished, or ready. It’s about being real, raw, and open to what God wants to reveal. It's about being willing!

The Hardest Part? Starting Scared Anyway

I’m not going to sugarcoat it—starting this podcast stretched me. I didn’t have a big production team, experience, or even knowledge in podcasting. I didn’t have thousands of followers waiting for it. I never imagined ever being able to do something like this. I had faith, obedience, and a yes.

The hardest part wasn’t the tech. It was fighting off doubt, imposter syndrome, and the lie that no one would care.

But I kept hearing God say:

“Do it for the one. I’ll take care of the rest.”
